58 years old. Just got into Pheasant hunting last year. My German Shorthair Pointer "Chip" is 1-3/4 yrs old. He did great last year with the pheasants. I am just starting Grouse hunting for the first time since I was 20 yrs old. Hunting with brother. We used to hunt grouse (with no dog) slow, take 5-6 steps, wait and tehn take 5 more steps. Is this the best way to hunt? and now that I have a pointer I would think everything changes. I would be very interested in any pointers people can give me.
