    steady to flush or steady to shot and fall, wich do u prefer in a gun dog? not a trial dog but a wild bird or canned bird dog?

    Steady to shot, at least. My (trial) dogs are broke through and through, but when it comes to hunting season? Steady to shot at least. If they stand through the whole thing, then so be it. Hunting is supposed to be fun (and safe!) for the dog. I don't like to think that I could possibly shoot my dogs when they chase after the flush. Too many close calls and it can cut a good season short!
