I am posting a brag in the form of an interesting observation.

I had my Cocker at the lake today and decided to go for a swim with him. I had him retrieving from the shore, while I treaded water. What I found interesting was when I placed the bumper  in my pocket he followed it down and started tugging it from my pocket. He came up for air and returned for the bumper. He completely submerged. I pulled it from my pocket and he took it and surfaced.  He repeated his diving act several times going as far as an arms lenght underwater.  I have had dogs which would put their face in the water, but never had one that would take it to the next step.  Is this common with retreiving breeds?
