I have been noticing a few roosters around sundown, in the right of way as I travel from western Nebraska to northeast Kansas. This area has had above average rainfall and with the recent heat it feels tropical. Should be plenty of grass hoppers now. Lots of grass seed. I am thinking the hatch should do well.

I have check with the rancher where I hunt in central SD and haven't heard good news.  Water levels high, creek was out of it's banks for a long time.  I waiting for the road side survey to come out the end of Aug.  I still can't wait to get out there.
