Now that we know how fast a Pheasant can fly. How fast do they run? I don'y rightly know but I like to learn.........Bob |

Fast enough in the sage a good pointing dog can't get them pinned down for a mile and a lab can't even come close to putting them up. |

A wounded bird is very fast but cannot outrun a charge of #6's. |

Llew, Some guys just don't have a dog that will pin it down for them. I know I would never ground shoot for fear Tony may come rushing in at the last instant.......Bob |

I seen a guy do it and I won't hunt with him any more if the dog hadn't been there I might have understood but this wasn't a cripple and the dog was almost shot. |

i wasnt trying to be a jerk just saying it is a scary thing to think about, imagine if someone did that with your dog running around. just saying. i understand some people dont have a dog infact where i hunt most people DONT have a dog but i still wouldnt do it considering other hunters may be around and stuff. it just seems dangerouse to me. |
