Was a few days after Christmas this year in Southern Pennsylvania. It was during the big snow fall. I think we ended up getting a foot during this snow.
The beauty of sitting at a beaver dam during a heavy snow fall is just amazing though. It was so peaceful and quiet and only a little cold. After only a few minutes of getting there we had a few birds fly in but landed about 50 yds down the pond from us. The owner of the pond walked down to the other part and noticed about 30 ducks in a very small patch of water.
They must have seen him because a few minutes later 3 birds flew up so my buddy and I each got one. About a half hour later 3 more birds flew in and the owner was able to get one.
Unfortunately the dog who retrieved the bird is the son of the dog pictured. He doesn't listen to anyone but his owner so I wasn't able to get a picture... damn alpha!
This was an awesome experience!
