It really depends on how many days, how hard you hunted it and the age of the dog. I normally with my young dogs hunted them for about 3 days. Then I gave them and me a full day of rest. I am not one to push my dogs close to exhaustion, I stop way before that. Now that my dog is 10 years old I hunt 2 days and give him and me 1 day of rest, then back out for another 2 days........Bob

i got to many to worry about it but when I didn't I did what Bob does also depends on what I'm hunting and the terrian.

We let our dogs take an hour break about every 150 pheasants or so...then they have to get busy and clean them.

That brings back memories of guiding the bad part is someone has to clean them.

It all depends on the conditions I'm hunting, the weather, how well conditioned the dog and I are, etc. I'm not afraid to hunt for 2-3 days in a row before I take a break for a couple days. The last day is usually hit or miss depending on the previously mentioned items.
