I just read an article on the site on the most important command you can teach your hunting dog  it is an interesting topic.   The article suggested "woah" as the command of choice.  I'm thinking "come" might be better.  Any thoughts????

I have to agree with you GameBird. The first thing I want any dog ( lab or pointer) I am training is to come to me when called. With out that how can you advance the training if the dog will not lessen to here.

I use HERE . I have completely trained out lots of pointing dogs on just here and it works great on labs to. And for my reference Bird Dog by Ben O Williams. So there is 3 for a come back command any other takers on this one.

I agree, I want my dog to come/here the instant he hears the command. Whoa is a good command but I use "here" more..............Bob

    I use "come/here", also.

    Followed closely by "whoa".
