Hello.  I am in need of some advice or some direction towards websites or books for training my dog to hunt geese.  I have a 3 year old pit/lab mix.  We had rescued him from a shelter about 2 years ago and he is a really great dog and very eager to please his master.  He knows all the basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and a few others that we have taught him.  I can get him to fetch objects most of the time but he refuses to bring them back, or loses interest in what he is doing and heads off to do something else.  I even took a wing from a goose i had shot last season and cut one of the wings off and put a rope on him so that way when he does go to retrieve it, if he doesnt come back, i can pull him back to me.  But that method seems to bother him and he just tries to eat the wing.  He seems interested sometimes, but is more interested in playing than anything.  I dont know if it has something to do with him being a mixed breed.  I need some guidence with this as i have become very frustrated with trying to do this and am not seeing any progress.  I would like to have him somewhat knowledgeable by the next season (September 1) so i am trying to pursue this with a deep passion.  Can anyone help me?? Thanks
