It has been very hard since last Feb. when I had to put Moses down due to losing his fight with cancer and he was only 2 yrs. old, just turning into a pheasant machine. In April I had a puppy shipped in from Utah--Satch, he not the retrieving machine Moses was, but sure does have a lot of "bird" in him!! It has been a little hard training at times when the pup I had to put down still has ahold of my heart!! I am moving on and looking forward to cooler weather and getting Satch on pen raised pheasants on our dog training grounds.

I do not post on the sight very often BUT do enjoy reading other posts!!!

Happy training and happy hunting !!!

Markvan, what breed is your new pup? my story is similiar to yours and am enjoying my new pup.  Gus is an english cocker about 9 months old now. He really goes.  I am also wishing for fall days, though summer has just started. Lately I have been taking him to the lake as grass seeds are really bad. Good luck. Looking forward to hearing how Satch progresses.

Stay away from tiger mountain and john greer , have got two dogs from him with hip displasia. One of the dogs he trained on birds and is absolutely ALOOF according to him. He is not someone to be trusted and would not ever suggest anyone do any business with him or buy one of his dogs.

I looked at John Greer website. He has posted as good of a guarantee as i have seen by those selling hunting dogs. How old were the two dogs when then were diagnoised with displasia? The pain from the dogs bad hips may be causing him to be aloof on birds.
