If you are a hunter from Indiana or someone who frequently hunts there, this is the place for you. You can share information about hunting throughout the state or talk about anything you'd like. Introduce yourself and get to know more about hunting in the great state of Indiana. So, welcome and enjoy! |

Been hunting Indiana since I was a kid ( long time ago) just happen to live in one of the countys that have wild pheasant, and have always gotten a few every year. Would like to hear from other hunters in Indiana that like to hunt the pheasant. |

I just spent the better part of the day driving through your great state from top to bottom. You have a lot of corn it seems. How are the natural birds in Indiana? It seems like the cover should be really good there. |

Paul, sorry you couldn't make it last year. I had a real good year all together. Found some new ground(about 8,000 acres of farm gound) it's alot of buffer strips along the ditches and wooded areas, lot of good bird cover.Anytime you want give me a buzz and we'll work something out.

jb, sorry about your long boring drive, take it you were on I-65.If so you passed 3 miles from my place. As far as the pheasant hunting in Indiana there are only a handful of counties that the population in worth a darn, and I happen to be in the middle. The farmers are starting to leave buffers along the ditches and waterways making good cover for the birds.Ever drive thru again give me a holler.

We have given up on wild birds Pheasant or Quail in Fayette County. We are raising our own and having very good results so far. This year we have 250 Quail and 35 Pheasants started and doing well. If we come accross wildbirds we leave them alone and have done so for years now but it doesn't seem to help. As the State of Indiana has found, just having the habitat is not the answer either. |

I live up in Porter County which had a bird population (marginal as it was) up through the 1980's. Still will see an occasional stray in the southern half of the county. I was releasing birds, but gave up when it became apparent they were not establishing themselves. I remember running into an occasional quail covey as well in the 70's and 80's. Now it's an annual 12 hour trip over Thanksgiving to a farm I've hooked up with near Reliance S.D. |

Hello to all, Just found this webpage and wondering how all are doing this season. I had some luck early on and got a limit of roosters from the 'Slough but it has slowed down for me. Cary |
