At Candyheart Retrievers we have a limited number of Golden Retrievers that live with us in our home as part of the family. Our love of our dogs has grown into a hobby which brings us great joy. We spend a lot of time with our dogs playing, training, and just enjoying life. We also try to stay active in Conformation Shows, Hunt Tests, and Obedience Trials as time and money allows.
We compete with our dogs, not only for the wonderful bonding experience working with your dog brings, but also because we believe in holding our dogs to the strict standards set forth by the Golden Retriever Club of America in terms of healthy & functional physical conformation, sound temperament, and strong working ability & drive.
We generally breed when we hope to keep a pup for ourselves to carry on the line into the next generation. Those pups we do not keep for ourselves are placed in loving homes. Since our dogs are treasured members of the family, and never just kennel dogs, they are socialized, loved, trained, and well cared for. Our dogs have wonderful temperaments, and are carefully screened for numerous genetic health concerns to ensure we are producing the best we can and working to avoid common, yet serious, health issues. When we have pups available for placement, we are very selective in finding the best homes for our little ones. Only responsible, loving, long- term homes will be considered, and all pups are required to be spayed or neutered at anCandyheart Retrievers, Pennsylvania appropriate age to prevent unplanned or accidental litters.
Each puppy is sent to their new home with an extensive puppy care package that generally includes copies of the parents registration, complete parent info with pictures & copies of their health clearances from the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) & CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation), a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a starter bag of food (Purina One, Large Breed Puppy) and vitamin supplements (NuVet Plus), information on raising, caring, training, and socializing your new puppy, a signed copy of our written sales contract and two year money-back health guarantee, and other extras.
Because we care a great deal for our dogs and puppies, we will always be available to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your Candyheart puppy. The best testament to our selective breeding program is the large percentage of repeat customers, and the numerous customer referrals we receive each year.
