Colorado Quail and Pheasant Hunting Preserves
When most people think of Colorado, they think big game. However, Colorado boasts excellent pheasant hunting as well as quail hunting, chuckar and partridge hunting A number of new programs are in place by public and private interest groups. And this year, Mother Nature has contributed badly needed moisture, as well. What it all adds up to is good news for Colorado Upland Bird Hunters. In addition to the great public hunting opportunities in Colorado there are also about 40 private hunting or shooting preserves in Colorado providing a variety of opportunities, ranging from sporting clays, dog field trials and dog training to upland bird hunting. Guided hunts with dogs are part of some memberships, while others simply plant birds and allow the individual hunter to seek out the plants on their own.
