Public packages offer lodging, meals, and dogs. The Northeast Kingdom, a truly unspoiled part of Vermont, is considered to be one of the best hunting areas in the East. Our Northwoods are vast and diversity of terrain provides excellent deer, bear, partridge, woodcock and snowshoe hare hunting.
The Northeast Kingdom offers trophy whittail deer hunting. The Kingdom consistently produces bucks in the 200-pound+ class. You can hunt hardwood ridges, soft and mixed woods, swampy areas or choppings for these magnificent animals. Guide service is available.
October is truly outstanding, the foliage is beautiful an the climate especially nice. Also the cool evenings revive the lake so salmon and lakers may again be taken near the surface. This is a great time to combine a week of hunting for partridge and woodcock with fishing for our cold water species.
Winter is a beautiful time of the year in the Northeast Kingdom. Unlike many facilities, The Vermont Sportsman Lodge is in full operation during the winter months. Winter vacations are popular in Vermont since there are many activites to generate interest and enjoyment. We are but a few minutes from groomed snowmobile trails, cross country skiing is available as is snowshoeing. Ice fishing is great also.
