UPLAND GAME, WATERFOWL REGULATIONS AVAILABLE
Regulations brochures for Nevada’s upland game and waterfowl hunting seasons are now available at most sporting goods stores and all Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) offices.
Frank Chaves, NDOW supervising game warden, said regulations and limits for upland game and waterfowl are similar to last year. However, he urges hunters to obtain the regulations brochures and thoroughly review them before taking to the field.
Chukar, cottontail rabbit and most of the state’s quail hunting seasons will open on Saturday, Oct. 9. Most areas of the state will open for duck hunting on Oct.9 while goose hunting will begin one week later in most areas.
Sage grouse opens on Oct. 9 in select areas of the state. Blue and ruffed grouse hunting is now under way with the season set to close on Nov. 30. Dove hunting also is in progress with the season scheduled to wrap up on Sept. 30.
Information on Nevada’s bird hunting seasons also can be obtained online at www.ndow.org.
