Sportmen's Club holds signups for junior pheasant hunt

The Taft Sportsmen‘s Club will be holding the 12th Annual Junior Pheasant Hunt that will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11-12, 2006. This is a free pheasant hunt for all hunters with a junior hunting license (16 and under). Sign-ups are presently underway and will continue until October 31st or until the hunts are filled.

For more information, to donate funds, or to exercise your well-trained hunting dog, contact Tom Brown by e-mail at tbrown16@bak.rr.com, by phone at (661) 765-2704, or mail to Taft Sportsmen‘s Club, P.O. Box 1245, Taft, CA 93268-1245. The required information for this hunt will be your name, street address or e-mail address, telephone number, hunting license number, date of birth, and your choice of hunting dates. There will be a morning hunt on both days from 8:00 am until noon and an afternoon hunt on both days from 1- 5:00 p.m.

The Taft Sportsmen‘s Club is pleased to offer this Junior Hunt in conjunction with the California Fish & Game, Game Bird Heritage Program, the Kern County Wildlife Commission, and Taft Friends of the NRA. These hunts are a family event, and they give young hunters a chance to become acquainted with safe gun practices, learn respect for the environment, work with hunting dogs, and practice skills necessary to become a safe and successful sportsman. The Sportsmen‘s Club would like to thank the local businesses, loyal members, and individuals that have supported this family activity over the years.
