UPLAND GAME BIRD STAMPS NOT REQUIRED FOR DOVE HUNTERS
Even though upland game bird stamps are now required when hunting most upland game birds in Nevada, they are not needed when hunting for dove, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
Dove season runs from Wednesday, Sept. 1, through Thursday, Sept. 30, throughout Nevada. On the other hand, hunters who will be taking to the field for the Saturday, Sept. 4, opening of blue grouse, ruffed grouse and snowcock seasons are required to have upland game bird stamps.
Hunters also are required to have upland game bird stamps when hunting for sage
grouse, chukar partridge, Hungarian partridge, quail and pheasant. Stamps are not required when hunting for turkey, crow and rabbit.
Stamps are $10 and may be purchased at sporting goods stores and NDOW offices. They must be signed and affixed to hunting licenses when hunting. Hunters under 12 are not required to have the stamps.
