Additional hunting permits available
Applications for leftover deer, elk and antelope licenses must be received at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Cheyenne office by 5 p.m. July 20.
The second drawing will be conducted around July 31. Licenses remaining after the drawing will be sold "as processed" through the Cheyenne office.
Seventy-five different types of elk licenses are leftover in 63 areas. The majority of the licenses are for antlerless elk, although 10 areas are offering "any elk tags" and archery-only tags for bulls are available in 10 areas.
Twelve areas and seven nonresident regions have leftover deer licenses. "Any antelope" licenses are available in 40 hunt areas. The antelope areas are predominately private land, so applicants are urged to have a place lined up to hunt before applying for a license.
Leftover reduced price doe/fawn antelope and deer, and cow/calf elk licenses are not issued in the second drawing but will be sold first-come, first-served at license agents in or near the respective hunt areas beginning Aug. 15.
