NRA and Speedco Shooting Sports Partner to Create 12 New Computer Shooting Games

GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 2004--Bob McCarthy, president of Speedco Shooting Sports, Inc. announced today that Speedco has entered into a licensing agreement with the National Rifle Association (NRA). Under the terms of the agreement, NRA will be the title sponsor of the new Speedco computer game, Varmint Hunting, which is due to be released in the fall. "Having the NRA as the title sponsor for the varmint hunting game will add an important dimension to our development and marketing program. The NRA brings the ultimate in shooting sports safety capabilities, as well as the highest levels of education, training, and shooting sports fundamentals," McCarthy stated.

The interactive, massively-multiplayer computer games developed by Speedco are based on proprietary technology that allows Speedco to create games that are "as real as it gets." Speedco computer games so closely portray the actual sport, that many "competitive" accuracy shooters will use the games for practice sessions.

The NRA will be involved in the development of the Varmint Hunting game and will bring its' unique expertise to the development program. It is the ultimate goal of both Speedco and the NRA to deliver enjoyable and entertaining electronic games to the shooting sports community and to offer a low cost opportunity to all consumers who would like to learn and enjoy the shooting sports in the comfort of their homes. The NRA/Speedco games will also allow the game player to compete "online" with anyone, anywhere in the world that has a copy of the game and an Internet connection.

NRA's Mike Marcellin, Managing Director, Office of the Treasurer, stated that his group was very impressed with the technology used by Speedco and is exploring some additional uses of the technology for customized games which could be used in the NRA membership and marketing programs.

"There is unlimited potential for the use of Speedco's technology and their deep understanding of the shooting sports in future NRA educational and training programs," said Bill Poole, NRA's Director of Education and Training.

There are thirteen games included in the development schedule for the shooting sports series. The first game, Xtreme Accuracy Shooting, is now available. It features "competitive target shooting," and is receiving excellent reviews in many of the shooting sports publications. The NRA endorsed Varmint Hunting game will be the first "hunting" based game in the series.
