Hunters can find season dates and reservation information online starting today for the 2006 controlled pheasant hunting program at 14 Illinois Department of Natural Resources sites.
The online application period for controlled pheasant hunting at the 10 sites operated by the DNR begins Aug. 7, while the application period for controlled pheasant hunting at four public/private partnership sites operated by the DNR and concessionaire T. Miller Inc. will be available beginning today.
In central Illinois, DNR-owned, controlled pheasant hunting sites include Moraine View State Recreation Area in McLean County, Sand Ridge State Forest in Mason County, the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area in Cass County and Eldon Hazlet State Park in Clinton County.
