Pheasant hunters benefited from an extended period of hunting this pas January. The Illinois Department of Natural Resource’s (IDNR) made the decision to extend the hunting season. Hunters could go hunting for an extra three days at Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area in Clinton County and Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area in Franklin and Jefferson Counties. Previously the date for the last hunting was Thursday 9th January, but it has was extended until Sunday 12th January.

For $30 a day hunters in Illinois can hunt pheasants in 19 different counties in Illinois.

The Illinois DNR recently made the announcement and will make the licenses available on its website starting August 5th.
