A Conservation Reserve Program offshoot has just achieved a fantastic goal of enrolling more than one million acres, thanks to land being signed up in North Dakota. The offshoot of the CRP program, which has recently declined, was developed to help booster wildlife habitat and protect vulnerable species from continuing population declines.

Reports are out in North Dakota regarding the 2012 pheasant hunting season.

The number of pheasant hunters was up 4%, but the number of pheasants taken was down 10%. Those numbers are not a surprise based on the reports leading into the 2012 season.
