Well, I've had a pretty good couple of trips here with the little one.  I have had some solid points, and today she did it again.  Only problem, I was so excited by the second one, poor little quail disappeared in a big poof of feathers.  Gotta let them get a beeeet more farther out next time!

It's a lot of fun with a dog you have spent so much time with.

Too funny. I'm such a bad shot that I like the close in ones. I have chosen to just go with a lighter load and shoot the bird before they get out of my 15 yard comfort zone.

You do know, that some dogs consider the bird retrieve the best part of the hunt for them. They get the bird in their mouth and can show off for a bit. Maybe even get some praise and a reward. Keep the dog happy........Bob
