| Nestled in the scenic and spacious Dunnigan Hills, Bird Valley Sportsmen Preserve is a world class 1,700 acre game bird preserve designed for the dedicated hunter. With 25-forty acre lots that are reserved for the day, and no more than 4 hunters per lot, hunters have plenty of time and space -- no push, no rush! Bird Valley also features a shooting range that is open year round and includes trap shooting, a 200-yard rifle range, a 25-yard pistol range and an archery range. Bird Valley and Bird Creek were originally named by local settlers over a hundred years ago. The name originated from the plentiful birds and wildlife found in the area. Over the last century, Bird Valley Sportsmen Preserve was a productive sheep and grain farming ranch. Gradually over the last 15 years, the ranch has been transformed back to its native state. Through a partnership with the Federal government's biologists and soil conservationists, the local Basque sheep rancher has enhanced the habitat and fostered the return of much of the native wildlife. The ranch currently is home to pheasant, quail, dove, coastal deer and wild boar. |

| Lakeview Farms Inc. is a family owned and operated licensed Pheasant hunting and fishing preserve located just 20 minutes North of Roseville, CA. Lakeview Farms maintains nearly 2,500 acres of exceptional habitat on four separate hunting preserves. Situated just minutes from the Lincoln airport, Lakeview offers habitat as diverse as it is challenging. The Lakeview Rice Preserves offer a combination of rice stubble, sudan grass and managed natural habitat. The Bass Lake Preserve features hundreds of acres of pasture grass and is home to Bass Lake, a favorite destination for the waterfowl hunters and fishermen. In keeping with our commitment to preserve open space and enhance our wildlife habitat, the Coon Creek Preserve has become home to some of the best wing-shooting habitat Northern California has to offer. Our chukar and quail seasons begin in mid-September each year, following the close of the dove-hunting season. Both the chukar and quail seasons close on the last Sunday in March. Bobwhite Quail (Northern Bobwhite) are also a very popular game bird at the Preserves. Quail are primarily seedeaters, although their diet covers a wide range of plant and animal matter.
The riparian habitat found along the Coon Creek corridor provides an excellent mixture of woodlands, brush, and grass, exactly what the bobwhite needs to establish a home. Quail are social birds that gather in groups called "coveys." As many as 10 to 30 birds may form a covey in which they forage and roost closely together. |

Cal. 95454 |

| The range of recreational opportunities on the Shamrock Ranch is limited only by the imagination. Wildlife abounds on the ranch and there are endless scenic vistas accessed by hundreds of miles of trails. The grassy meadows along the western boundary of the ranch are criss-crossed by streams lined with oak trees and brush providing excellent terrain for hunting pheasants over dogs. The ranch maintains a modern breeding facility for pheasants along with an enclosed fly-way which allows the birds to fly as they mature. A pair of world-class German shorthair pointers are available for use.
Since the birds are raised on the ranch pheasant hunting is available essentially year-round. A hunting license is not required.
The miles and miles of grassy trails topping ridges and cut into sloping hillsides provide excellent cover for quail. As new roads have been pioneered and old roads redone on the ranch the cutbanks have been seeded with grasses specifically designed to support the expanding quail population. Hence large numbers of both mountain and California valley quail abound on almost every section of the ranch and the quail hunting is second to none for this area of California. All hunts are guided and two champion German shorthair pointers are available. A California hunting license is required. |
