We use the strongest flying birds as possible. The success of a good hunt depends on having birds that are as close to wild birds as you can have in a release system. We hunt strictly natural grass fields. We have a few feed plots that aid in our dove hunting season. All birds are released naturally. We do not use traps, so we cannot guarantee that you will find all the birds that are released, but our hunters will generally see more birds than are released. |

| Just imagine, your own private group at Winchester's NILO FARMS, one of the finest hunting and shooting facilities in the country. The Pheasant is perhaps the most popular of all upland game preserve birds - comprising more than half of all preserve birds harvested in the U.S. While not a native to Southeastern Illinois, they're adaptable enough to be a successful and challenging bird at NILO. We use Springers to flush pheasants rather than point them because we feel the edge of unpredictability adds to the sport.
The Chukar Partridge is arguably the best bird for game preserve shooting and a very successful addition at NILO. It combines the endurance of the Pheasant with the unpredictable flight pattern of the Quail. Chukars, like Pheasants, are hunted with aggressive flushing dogs like Springers and Labs.

The club is open Tuesday thru Sunday by reservation only. Our property is conveniently located just south of Rockford, Illinois, three miles west of Interstate 39. We are just minutes from the Rockford Airport and five major hotels. The club is bordered on the east by the picturesque Kilbuck Creek, one of only two creeks nationwide which run almost straight north. The bottom land of the Kilbuck provides a natural corridor for a variety of wildlife. To our north is the beautiful Kishwaukee river. The lowlands of these two waterways provides the setting for your outdoor pleasure. But that's not all. The center of the property is high, rolling hills which afford you with some views overlooking the wetlands that lie in the middle of the property to the south.
These naturally occurring landscapes, not only provide you with a great setting for your hunt; they serve the dual purpose of being the location for our elaborate sporting clays courses. We have clays like you have never seen before! Upland has five of the most esthetically pleasing and challenging sporting clays courses in the country. We have kept things as wild and natural as possible with just enough grooming to allow neatness and convenience.
