He grew up in Michigan hunting ruffed grouse, woodcock and pheasant. Dennis started his Montana outfitting business for fly-fishing in 1982 and his bird hunting business in 1987. In 1994 Dennis added guided Arizona quail hunts to his operation. Outfitting is a year-round business for Dennis. Making sure that his clients are enjoying their hunt is of paramount importance. | Pheasant hunting is exciting and challenging! The Rock Creek population has been around for some time. So expect wild, wily, intelligent birds. They will soon teach you "whose house" you're in! Be prepared to do some pinching and the more hunters the better. Most of our deer hunters go on a pheasant hunt after they have harvested their deer. Pheasant hunting is done when everyone with your guide is tagged out. Usually, the last day of the hunt is the best because it takes several hunters on point to get much done with these gorgeous intelligent birds. Each year we plan an opening week and a late season hunt in December for the serious pheasant hunter. The largest cocks are harvested in December. Other up-land birds that can be hunted are sage grouse, sharp tailed grouse, and Hungarian partridge. |
