Youth Pheasant Hunters Get Special Hunting Area
October 26, 2004

Some young hunters are getting a special treat this fall.

They're getting their own special hunting area.

Idaho Fish and Game has created a place where youth 16 and under can hunt for pheasants.

It’s at the Market Lake Wildlife Management Area near Roberts.

Some 130 acres have been set aside for the youth to hunt in.

The only requirements they need are a pheasant license and go with an adult who has a permit to hunt in the area.

The additional permit costs $21.50.

The special youth area is next to the wildlife management area headquarters and is designated by signs.

Between 30 and 50 birds are released into the area every week.

For more information, you can call the Idaho Fish and Game at 525-7290.
